Champlevé vessel with matte metal reserve.  The Champlevé technique requires precision hand inlay of opaque vitreous enamel glass slurries into cells that are acid etched in heavy gauge metal substrate.  The vivid, luminous pools of glass are achieved over many days of sequential, exactly timed kiln firings at approximately 1500 deg F.

The "Vinyasa" decorative design engages intricate linear shapes that draw the viewer's eye with smooth movement around the circumference of the vessel.  The design conveys subtle grounding, rhythmic action and integration.  Overall, the effect is a celebration of patterned repetition with variations, as in a musical symphonic work.

The "Vinyasa" design is a signature style of enamelist Barry Wechsler.  It symbolizes the energy of a person's spiritual practice and is inspired by the core approaches of Vinyasa and Ashtanga Yoga.  With personal moral restraint, dedicated physical / mental elongation and rhythmic breath, we are able to penetrate to higher realities, deeper appreciations and liberation.  The vessel is designed to yield both the visual tease of a casual look or the calming effect of a concentrated meditation on its design flow.  It is a visual "mantra".

The vessel is heavy gauge copper and serves well as a decorative centerpiece or contemplation vessel.  The surrounding metal reserve has a sinuous top and a subtle matte finish, highlighting the luminous white, red / orange, brown and yellow glass inlay.
